Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how VaultVoice AI ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. VaultVoice AI is designed to be private by design: recording, transcription, and summarization all happen entirely on your device. The app requires no account, declares no internet permission, and does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
1. Data We Collect
We do not collect any data. VaultVoice AI has no servers, no
user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party
tracking of any kind. The app does not request the Android
INTERNET permission, so it is technically unable to send
anything off your device.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Everything you create in VaultVoice AI is stored only in the app's private storage on your own device. This includes:
- Audio recordings you make with the app
- Transcripts generated from your recordings
- Summaries generated from your transcripts
- Recording titles, timestamps, and app preferences
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it (see Section 5). We have no access to it.
3. On-Device Processing
Speech-to-text transcription and summarization are performed locally on your device using bundled machine-learning models. Your voice audio and the resulting text are processed in the app's own sandbox and are never uploaded to any server — ours or anyone else's.
4. Permissions the App Uses
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — used only to record audio when you start a recording. The app never records in the background without an active, visible recording session.
- Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE) — used to keep an in-progress recording running reliably while you switch apps or turn off the screen. Android shows a persistent notification whenever this service is active.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used only to show the recording status notification required by the foreground service.
VaultVoice AI explicitly removes the INTERNET and
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions, including any that
third-party libraries might try to add.
5. Sharing and Export
VaultVoice AI lets you export transcripts as TXT, Markdown, or SRT files and share them through the Android share sheet. Sharing happens only when you initiate it, and the destination (for example a messaging or email app you choose) is entirely under your control. Once shared, the data is governed by the receiving app's own privacy policy.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries remain on your device until
you delete them. You can delete individual recordings inside the app, and
deleting a recording also removes its transcript and summaries.
Uninstalling the app permanently removes all of its data from your
device. The app also opts out of Android's cloud backup
(allowBackup=false), so your data is not copied to any
backup service. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for
us to retain or delete on any server.
7. Children's Privacy
VaultVoice AI does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads and no social features.
8. Security
Your data is stored in the app's private, sandboxed storage provided by Android, which is inaccessible to other apps under normal system protections. Because the app has no network capability, there is no network exposure.
9. Changes to This Policy
If a future version of VaultVoice AI changes how it handles data — for example by adding optional subscriptions or advertising — we will update this policy and revise the effective date above before that version is released. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's update notes.
